Overview

The Natural Resources Department is looking for temporary ANS Boat Inspectors to join our team!

In this role, you will provide information, education, and customer service related to aquatic invasive species prevention and compliance.

Our mission is to establish, protect, and manage significant regional parks and open lands by providing quality outdoor recreational opportunities and stewardship of natural resource values. We are committed to fostering a sense of community and appreciation for the natural and agricultural heritage of Larimer County for present and future generations.

The schedule for this position is flexible and may include weekends, swing shifts, and night shifts. Both full-time and part-time positions are available. This role is expected to last for six months.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing:

  • Provides information to visitors on aquatic invasive species and initiatives to prevent their spread.
  • Conducts inspections of boats launching and leaving Carter Lake and Horsetooth Reservoir for aquatic invasive species for preventing the spread of such invasive species.
  • Quarantines and decontaminates infected vessels.
  • Advises park visitors of recreational opportunities and public use regulations.
  • Greets a wide variety of park visitors in a friendly, welcoming, and helpful manner, and communicates effectively with a wide diversity of individuals and groups.
  • May supervise a crew engaged in boat inspections and/or act as a lead worker to less experienced seasonal workers.
