    Coordinator - Mental Health Promotion (Temporary)

    Job Summary:
    Operating under the direction of the Director of Social, Emotional, and Behavior Services, this position provides districtwide leadership for the coordination and alignment of mental health, behavioral health, and attendance systems. The role ensures a coherent, multi-tiered approach to prevention, early intervention, and intensive supports, with a focus on reducing barriers to attendance and improving student well-being. This position supervises and supports district mental health staff, oversees Handle With Care implementation, and leads development of a coordinated co-response model in partnership with Safety and Security and community providers.

    Job Responsibility Description

    Mental Health & Attendance Systems Leadership

    • Lead the design, alignment, and continuous improvement of districtwide mental health, behavioral health, and attendance systems.
    • Ensure coherence across SEL, PBIS, MTSS, and attendance practices.
    • Establish and monitor protocols to identify and address barriers to attendance, including chronic absenteeism and truancy.
    • Use data to guide decisions, monitor outcomes, and adjust supports.
    • Review suicide risk screening practices to ensure accuracy, compliance, and appropriate follow-up.

    Tier III Coordination & Staff Supervision

    • Supervise and coordinate district mental health therapists and attendance social workers.
    • Oversee Tier III supports, including home visits, family engagement, and individualized intervention planning.
    • Provide coaching, case consultation, and implementation guidance to ensure aligned and effective service delivery.
    • Monitor workload, service quality, and outcomes.

    Crisis Response Systems & Protocols

    • Lead implementation and continuous improvement of Handle With Care protocols.
    • Develop and coordinate a district co-response model in partnership with Safety and Security and community providers.
    • Establish clear processes for communication, response, and follow-up.
    • Monitor fidelity and effectiveness of crisis response systems.

    Training, Capacity Building & Partnerships

    • Design and deliver professional learning in trauma-informed practices, attendance intervention, suicide prevention, and crisis response.
    • Build staff capacity to implement consistent, effective practices across schools.
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with community agencies to support student and family needs.
    • Coordinate services and supports across departments and external providers.

    Other Duties

    • Additional tasks, duties, and responsibilities may be assigned as needed/requested.


    Qualifications:
    Acceptable demonstration of education and/or experience will be at the sole discretion of the District.

    • Master\"s degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, or other related field required
    • Five (5) years of experience in school-based or youth-serving mental health services required.
    • Experience with MTSS, attendance intervention, and crisis response preferred.
    • Valid Colorado Teacher\"s license with applicable endorsement required
    • Valid Colorado Principal/Administrator\"s License required
    • Valid Colorado licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPC, or equivalent) required.


    Working Conditions:
    227 days / year
