Reports to: Executive Housekeeper Pay Range: $19.29 Job Summary: The Public Area Attendant ensures the cleanliness and upkeep of all public areas, including restrooms, elevators, and lobbies, to maintain high-quality standards. This role supports guest services by responding to requests and performing additional cleaning tasks to exceed guest expectations. This position will typically be morning shifts, with time split between laundry and public area attendant. Essential Functions and Duties: Respond to guest requests for items such as rollaway beds, refrigerators, and other amenities, and assist with turndown service when needed. Clean back-of-house areas and provide assistance to hotel staff, such as vacuuming offices and checking room status. Maintain inventory levels for public areas, such as towels for the fitness center and pool, and notify the supervisor when supplies are low. Perform additional cleaning projects as directed by the supervisor, such as carpet or tile and grout cleaning. Follow brand standards and ensure all duties are performed to meet or exceed guest expectations. Provide professional and courteous service at all times. Clean and maintain all public areas, storage areas, and administrative spaces. Respond to guest requests by delivering supplies and service items to guestrooms. Dust, vacuum, and maintain public areas, hallways, restaurants, and rest areas. Polish metalwork and furniture in public and administrative areas. Collect soiled linens and transport them to the laundry, and store clean linens appropriately. Vacuum floors and clean restrooms as assigned. Remove trash from public and back-of-house areas. Clean outside areas, including arrival zones and the porte-cochère. Replenish supplies in designated areas as needed. Assist with laundry related duties, as needed. Maintain cleanliness in all public areas of the hotel, including restrooms, lobbies, and elevators, to meet high standards of quality. Required Experience, Education, and Skills: One month of related experience preferred Strong attention to detail, with the ability to complete tasks with speed and accuracy. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Work Environment: Requires standing, walking, bending, and stooping for extended periods, up to 8 hours a day. Must be able to lift, push, or pull loads weighing up to 30 lbs. Flexible schedule, including availability for weekends, evenings, and holidays, based on hotel needs. Primarily indoor work, cleaning public areas and back-of-house spaces.
