ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads and provides technical direction to maintenance personnel in maintenance activities, including construction, plumbing and sewage. Provides technical leadership in service, repair, replacement and protection of physical assets of the casino, as directed.
- Monitors systems and trains co-workers on all maintenance controls and related equipment to ensure the safety and protection of casino guests and employees. Fixes handrails, carpets and wood trim; keeps water at safe level below building, discharges clean water and maintains sump pumps in proper operating order; maintains comfortable internal climate controls; conducts routine troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Takes an active leadership role in responding to requests from guests and employees for maintenance assistance. Maintains positive public relations with casino guests and employees.
- Leads special projects including but not limited to remodeling, construction, expansion efforts and other duties as required.
- Responsible for management of all staff in the Facilities Department including hiring, training, team building, performance management, scheduling and formal discipline.
- Leads co-workers in compliance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act and internal policies and procedures
- Reports violations of maintenance equipment use, as directed.
- Maintains a clean machine room, plants, pits, fan chambers and break room.
- Trains co-workers on maintenance of accurate and current daily equipment logs.
- Provides technical guidance to co-workers on fire and safety alert equipment. Assists in maintaining MSDS property-wide.
- Maintains alertness for the performance of all responsibilities, in uncertain situations, exercises caution and informs supervisor prior to taking action.
- Within the realm of the responsibility of the job, maintains a clean and safe work environment. Performs duties in compliance with safety procedures, which includes use of safety equipment. Incumbents are responsible for following safety procedures, identifying unsafe practices or conditions and informing their supervisor or the Safety Committee of unsafe conditions, as directed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated thorough knowledge and experience performing routine general maintenance support services.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from high school or equivalent. Completion of a Trade School Education in Electrical, Steam and/or Refrigeration is desired. Five (5) or more years of recent and related engineering, HVAC or skilled trade experience, including experience leading and providing technical direction to maintenance personnel.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have a valid and current State of Colorado Gaming License. Must have a valid Colorado Driver’s License, with a good driving record; must be at least twenty-one years of age. Successful completion of Bloodborne Pathogens and hazardous material training.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Essential duties involve performing physical exertion: frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs, crouching/stooping, bending, stretching, reaching, pushing, kneeling, squatting, and standing for an entire work shift with standard breaks in order to perform duties. Essential duties require lifting from 50 to 75 pounds to stack, store or move materials, supplies and equipment. Essential duties involve a flexible workweek, any day of the week, any shift of the day, with additional hours routinely required. In the event of a facility emergency, incumbent must be on-call and available.

Essential duties involve working near large numbers of people in an inside and outside environment, which is subject to extreme temperature changes and adverse weather conditions, including wind, rain, snow, cold, heat, and frequently containing loud or high noise levels from guests and from coin machines.

General office equipment includes typewriters, fax machines, computers, photocopiers, calculators, and staplers.
