- IT Supervisor - Applications
About the Job: In this role, you will join a forward-looking technology organization dedicated to delivering secure, modern, and resilient solutions for the City of Colorado Springs. You will lead the Application Support team responsible for the full lifecycle oversight of nearly 600 citywide applications. This includes driving a comprehensive application rationalization effort, ensuring platforms are optimized, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational needs.
You will collaborate closely with customers and stakeholders who rely on major enterprise systems such as ServiceNow, Laserfiche, Milestone, DocuSign, and other critical platforms. A key part of your work will involve guiding the modernization of legacy custom applications and transitioning them to Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions. Through strong leadership, thoughtful planning, and partnership with departments across the City, you will help position the organization for long-term success with a streamlined, modern application portfolio.
This position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year.

As an IT Supervisor, you will:
- Manage and supervise the Application Support Team to include performance management, team building, and hiring.
- Lead the Application Support team responsible for the lifecycle management of nearly 600 citywide applications.
- Support manager in completing a comprehensive application rationalization initiative to streamline, consolidate, and optimize the application portfolio.
- Partner with customers and stakeholders who depend on major enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, Laserfiche, Milestone, DocuSign, and other critical systems.
- Guide modernization efforts by transitioning legacy custom applications to Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions.
- Ensure applications are reliable, secure, compliant, and aligned with organizational and operational needs.
- Foster strong relationships with departments across the City to understand business requirements and deliver effective technology solutions.
- Collaborate across IT teams to support technology needs, address escalations, and ensure smooth operational support for City services.

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Knowledge of:- Application lifecycle management, including implementation, maintenance, upgrades, and retirement.
- Application rationalization methodologies to assess redundancy, cost, usage, and business value.
- Migrating legacy custom systems to COTS or SaaS platforms, including data migration and process redesign
- Cloud services and hosting models (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
- ITSM (Information Technology Service Management) and ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices, especially incident, request, problem, and change management.
Ability to:- Supervise, mentor, guide, and evaluate the performance of both regular and temporary staff.
- Map business processes and gather requirements to support customer engagements.
- Manage vendors, contract terms, renewals, and licensing structures.
- Work with diverse teams and departments to meet the City's technology support requirements.
- Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Five years of full-time professional experience in a related field, including two years of administrator and/or supervisory experience.
