Role Overview

This role plays a crucial part in supporting a broad spectrum of Human Resources operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of the HR department. Key areas of focus include talent acquisition and onboarding, benefits and compensation administration, leave management, HRIS data integrity, employee relations support, and compliance. This position involves executing a variety of mid-level HR tasks tailored to specific departmental needs.

Essential Duties: In addition to related job duties as assigned, this position will:

  • Talent Management: Assisting with recruiting and selection processes, coordinating onboarding and offboarding, and managing new hire paperwork. This might involve processing applications, creating job postings, scheduling interviews, conducting reference and background checks, and processing employee data.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Supporting the administration of benefits programs, compensation structures, and retirement processes. This includes benefits coordination, tracking information related to employee compensation, and processing relevant claims transactions.
  • Compliance & Data Management: Ensuring employee file compliance, maintaining accurate HRIS entries, and supporting data analysis and reporting. This also involves records retention, matter management, filing and HRIS system set-up.
  • Employee Support: Assisting with leave administration, workers' compensation claims, and occupational health processes. Leads and organizes employee events and celebrations.
  • Organizational Support: Contributing to organizational development initiatives, risk management, and training.
  • Guidance & Information: Providing clear and helpful information and assistance to both new and existing employees, explaining HR policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
  • This position may also provide administrative support for HR projects, conduct audits, and research policy application as needed. The specific duties assigned will depend on the departmental focus and operational requirements.
  • This role serves as a primary point of contact for HR inquiries, assisting employees with questions, clarifying rules and regulations, and guiding them through necessary HR processes.

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3 years of prior HR experience required or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), matter management and similar computer applications.

Physical Requirements

  • Stationary position; prolonged periods at a desk and working on the computer.
  • Occasional movement about inside the office to walk to offices and office machinery.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds, must be able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the workday.

Placement: Contract to Direct

Pay: $23 to $28 depending on experience.

Scheduled: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm; onsite
