Intervention Specialist - LIT
Under supervision of the Principal and/or Assistant Principal, teaches and instructs students in academic subject matter, along with social, behavioral, and other educational or related skill areas; plans, develops, organizes, implements, and assesses a comprehensive educational program for students; assists in other school programs as assigned; creates a supportive and flexible program and environment conducive to learning and personal growth according to each student’s ability and interests. Encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasional lifting five, (5) to ten (10) pounds
- Frequent sitting and standing
- Occasional bending and squatting

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Colorado Teaching License
Colorado READ Act Certification

Responsibility:
You would maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development preparing required reports on students and activities.

SPED Teacher - Moderate Needs

Moderate needs programs in the Douglas County School District serve students across all levels (PK-12) who benefit from universal and targeted special education services. Moderate needs teachers are responsible for the provision of an individualized service delivery model that primarily utilizes inclusive practices through a combination of special education support provided in and outside of the general classroom environment. Candidates should have demonstrated knowledge and skill regarding the components of effective instruction, the assimilation of technology into the learning environment, and the ability to individualize instruction based on cognitive, social, emotional, and adaptive functioning. Additionally, applicants should have demonstrated knowledge of child development, behavior management in the context of a general classroom or small group environment, consultation, and developmental needs of school-aged children and adolescents. Further, applicants should have demonstrated effective case management skills, effective written and oral communication skills, knowledge and expertise with developing and maintaining IEPs, the ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with school personnel, students, and parents, demonstrated understanding and empathy necessary for working with students and their families, and demonstrated ability and desire to function as a team member and a team facilitator.
