Boulder Community Health is seeking an Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) who provides strategic leadership and oversight for nursing and patient care services. The role is accountable for advancing nursing practice, patient outcomes, quality, safety, workforce performance, and operational excellence in alignment with professional standards and organizational priorities. The ACNO promotes a collaborative professional practice environment, ensures a consistent standard of nursing care across the organization, and supports the delivery of safe, equitable, high-quality, and financially sustainable care. Reports to the Chief Operating Officer / Chief Nursing Officer

Qualifications
&Bachelor’s and master’s degree required, one of which must be in Nursing
&Colorado RN License
&Minimum 5 years health care experience required
&Previous management experience required
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) provides senior leadership for nursing practice, patient care operations, quality, and workforce performance through the following core competencies:

Leads with self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and ethical judgment; models nursing values while fostering resilience, accountability, and a culture of trust, respect, and psychological safety.
2. Strategic & Operational Leadership
Drives strategic and operational direction for nursing services, translating priorities into measurable outcomes; leads initiatives that improve quality, safety, access, equity, and efficiency while ensuring readiness in complex and changing environments.
3. Professional Practice & Governance
Ensures excellence in nursing practice through evidence-based standards; oversees shared governance, promotes continuous improvement, and represents nursing perspectives in organizational decision-making.
4. Communication & Relationship Management
Communicates transparently across all levels; builds strong interdisciplinary partnerships and fosters collaboration, alignment, and effective conflict resolution.
5. Quality, Safety & Regulatory Oversight
Leads quality and safety efforts using data-driven decision-making; ensures compliance with regulatory standards and integrates evidence, innovation, and population health strategies to improve outcomes.
6. Financial & Workforce Leadership
Oversees financial and operational resources; leads workforce strategy including recruitment, retention, development, and succession planning while ensuring accountability for clinical and financial outcomes.
