OSP Operations Specialist
Pay Range: $40/hour to $47/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced OSP Operations Specialist to lead the end-to-end delivery of fiber connectivity solutions. This role is responsible for post-sale customer engagement, project execution, and overall ownership of outside plant (OSP) and network infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, managing projects from planning through implementation while coordinating vendors, permitting, and construction activities to ensure successful, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Required QualificationsMinimum 4 years of experience managing OSP construction and large capital projects
Strong knowledge of:
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents
Experience managing RFPs, design timelines, and construction schedules
Familiarity with tools such as MS Excel, Word, Google Earth, and AutoCAD
Strong understanding of OSP lifecycle, including quoting, construction, and delivery
Proven negotiation and vendor management skills
Strong business and financial acumen

The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, managing projects from planning through implementation while coordinating vendors, permitting, and construction activities to ensure successful, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the single point of contact for customers post-sale, managing orders, service requests, and installation coordination
- Lead the planning, implementation, and execution of fiber connectivity and network infrastructure projects
- Manage daily activities of construction vendors to expedite OSP construction and fiber splicing
- Participate in on-call rotation to support network outages and emergency restoration efforts
- Develop and maintain relationships with jurisdictions and right-of-way (ROW) authorities (e.g., cities, counties, railroads)
- Coordinate permitting activities, including encroachment permits, franchise agreements, and building access agreements
- Ensure timely permit submissions and monitor engineering and construction vendor performance
- Design and implement commercial and carrier-grade fiber networks, including backbone and lateral builds
- Support project delivery within data center environments for customer installations
- Develop, manage, and track project budgets in coordination with network operations
- Oversee procurement of materials and equipment for assigned projects
- Execute bid processes, including vendor selection, cost estimation, and budget tracking
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation
- Track project progress, financials, and milestones using CRM/tools (e.g., Salesforce) and internal trackers
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely project completion
- Attend customer meetings and conduct site visits, including travel to construction locations as required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred)
- 7 years of experience in telecommunications, including:
- Outside plant (OSP)
- Fiber optics and network infrastructure
- Optical transport systems
- Project management
- Structured cabling
- Routing and switching
- IP networking protocols
